Concern about everyday electromagnetic exposure — from mobile phones, WiFi routers and household wiring — is widespread, and worth addressing honestly rather than either dismissing or overstating.

What the evidence actually shows

Major health bodies, including the WHO, classify radiofrequency fields from phones and WiFi as "possibly carcinogenic" — the same cautious category as pickled vegetables and aloe vera, reflecting limited evidence rather than a clear proven risk. Large studies of mobile phone use have not found the clear cancer link that was feared two decades ago, though research on very long-term, heavy use continues.

Sensible precautions, without alarm

Given genuine uncertainty rather than proven harm, reasonable, low-cost precautions make sense: don't sleep with the phone under your pillow, use speaker or headphones for long calls, and don't keep the router in the bedroom. These cost nothing and address the uncertainty without requiring fear of everyday technology.
