Panchamahabhuta — the five great elements Facebook  ·  X  ·  Write to me →

Roughly two thirds of the human body is water. Every cell sits in it, every nutrient travels in it, and every waste product leaves in it. Of the five elements, water is the one we take in and pass out in the greatest quantity every single day, which is why the tradition treats it as the place to begin.

This section covers what we drink and how the body handles it: the quality of drinking water, the long argument about distilled water, sea water in traditional use, and the practice of Shivambu that gave the old site its name.
